[Easemakers Podcast E89] Creating continuity, preserving legacy, and planning for the future
In every family office, turnover is inevitable. So how do you plan for the future and ensure information doesn't get lost over time? In this episode of the Easemakers Podcast, Josh Kanter shares how his own family's story shaped his approach to helping family offices navigate transitions and preserve their legacies.

In conversations around family office turnover, Josh Kanter points to Bhuddist wisdom: “pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” While it’s impossible to eliminate the pain of losing a family member, it is possible to make that time of loss easier on the family.
Josh knows this firsthand. When his father was diagnosed with cancer, Josh immediately joined his family’s family office and spent 18 months shadowing his father. Even still, he felt underprepared to navigate the transition — and if he felt that way, what did that mean for other families who didn’t have the time he’d had to prepare?
Today, Josh helps other families as an advisor and as the Founder & CEO of leafplanner, a platform that centralizes and facilitates legacy planning, estate administration and family communication.
In a new episode of the Easemakers Podcast, Josh shares how his own family’s experience shaped his approach to helping family offices navigate transitions and preserve their legacies.
