[Easemakers Podcast E24] Navigating a new generation of principals in private service
A younger generation of principals is starting to hire household staff — so what does that mean for private service professionals? In this episode of the Easemakers Podcast, Philippa Smith shares what she's learned about this new generation.
Every day, Philippa Smith is honing her expertise in household staffing and trying to understand the trends in private service, both as a recruiter and as the host of her podcast, Life in Private Staffing.
When she started her staffing agency, Silver Swan Recruitment, she set out to place staff in ski chalets, and over time, she started helping her clients find staff for their homes, as well. Over the past 9 years, she’s watched as the industry has changed, and now, she’s seeing a new, younger generation starting to hire household staff.
Counter to the old adage of “keeping up with the Joneses,” she says this new generation is looking for something unique — people who are different, with unexpected experiences on their resumes.
In this episode of the Easemakers Podcast, Philippa shares what principals are looking for today, and her tips for anyone looking to stand out in today’s job market.
